Tips for Hot Yoga Beginners
Hot
yoga has emerged as a whole new way to yoga, and yogis are taking quite an
interest in this extreme practice. We had to engage several yoga experts and
trainers to find out how can one make the most out of such classes and what
they can expect from the hot yoga if they are planning to do one or are
resilient towards it.
Keep Hydrated
Being
hydrated is already a necessity for a common person, but the hot yoga
enthusiasts need it much more badly. Staying hydrated keeps the body
temperature under control and avoid any possible dehydration, which may turn
bad. However, taking a large quantity of water during class is not recommended
because it will only make your condition go worse.
Take Light Meal
Being
full or hungry before hot yoga is not a good plan. Take a meal with a
combination of proteins, carbohydrates, and fat to balance the diet plan. A
full belly is not suited to the yoga pose or training intensity, while an empty
stomach can lower down the energy level and motivation.
Dress up Accordingly
Yoga
dress should be able to handle the sweat; you are going to lose out and should
not feel saggy or too wet during the training.
Bring a Mat Towel
Mat
towels are actually yoga mats that are able to soak up a vast amount of sweat
and water. A typical yoga mat can become a sponge if you sweat out too much.
So, it is better to have a regular mat with you for the good hot yoga
experience.
Cool Down When Needed
It
is normal to be extremely tired or overwhelmed during the training due to the
humidity and body temperature rise. So, better find a spot where you can cool down
and catch your breath.
For
beginners, it is difficult to catch up breath during the intense poses, so it
is necessary to bring the nose to the rescue.
Breaks
are necessary for yoga, unlike bodybuilding, where you have to go rough on your
muscles and achieve that fatigued muscle. Don't push yourself too much into the
training.
Cautions
Hot
yoga training is all about listening to the body and how it responds to the different yoga
poses. The intensity of hot yoga classes gives a stronger mind-body connection to the
yogi, so don't let this connection to be interrupted due to any internal or
external factor. If you don't feel comfortable in the studio, just take a break
and go out to breath in the fresh air. Increase your daily water intake, and
don't just drink in larger quantities at once.
If
you think sports drinks can help out, go for it as they can make up for any
salt deficiency or electrolytic recharge.
